Tumorembolisation

Tumor embolization is a procedure to shut down the blood supply to cancer cells in order to reduce their numbers or cause complete cell death. It can be subdivided into three groups of procedures:

• bland embolization
• chemoembolisation
• embolization with radioactive particles
  • hepatic radioembolization
