Heberden-Arthrose
Heberden nodes are a clinical examination sign related to the hands, most commonly found at the dorsolateral aspect of the distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) and are a moderate-to-strong marker of osteoarthritis .
Previously, Heberden nodes and DIP osteophytes were thought to be synonymous, but there is evidence that Heberden nodes are related to not only bones but also ligaments . There remains debate to the correlation between the two and the exact etiology and histology of Heberden nodes.
