The Capps triad refers to the constellation of clinical and imaging findings in patients with spontaneous retropharyngeal hematomas, and consists of:
History and etymology
Named after the American physician Richard B Capps (1906-1976) who first described this triad in patients with bleeding parathyroid tumors in 1934 .
