Abnormally eccentric gestational sac
An eccentrically-located gestational sac towards the fundus of the uterus is the normal sonographic appearance; however, an abnormally eccentric gestational sac on ultrasound may be apparent due to a number of causes
They include
- interstitial ectopic pregnancy
- normally implanted pregnancy in a
- displacement by a uterine leiomyoma or other myometrial mass
- a focal myometrial contraction at the time of scanning
- far lateral intrauterine pregnancy
Practical points
- cessation of pregnancy can be scrutinized in female, presented with decidual reaction and eccentrically placed gestational sac
it minimizes the distress of females along with the reduction of workload.
