Small airways
Small airways traditionally refer to distal airways that are 2-3 mm or less in caliber with a wall thickness of less than 0.5 mm . These therefore include terminal bronchi (have cartilage) as well as bronchioles (no cartilage). They may or may not be directly visible on CT.
