adrenal lipoma
An adrenal lipoma is an extremely rare macroscopic fat containing adrenal lesion. with only a handful of cases described in literature.
Pathology
Like other lipomas elsehwre in the body, they are benign tumors of mesenchymal origin that contain mature fatty tissue and are surrounded by a fibrous capsule.
Radiographic features
CT/MRI
Appears as a well-circumscribed, homogeneous, fatty lesion with minimal or no soft-tissue attenuation / signal within the lesion.
Differnential diagnosis
For macroscopic fat containing adrenal lesions consider
- adrenal myelolipoma: most common macroscopic fat containing adrenal lesion.
