cardiac event recorder

nicht verwechseln mit: kabelloser Herzschrittmacher

Implantable loop recorders, also known as insertable cardiac monitors, are small insertable devices that continuously monitor and record cardiac rhythms. They are placed subcutaneously and used for the evaluation of patients with recurrent unexplained episodes of palpitations or syncope. They should not be confused for a USB flash drive, a leadless cardiac pacemaker or an e-vape device.

Patients with implantable loop recorders can safely undergo MRI, however, the device may record electromagnetic interference (EMI) artifacts as arrhythmias. Although most recent models of implantable loop recorders are generally MRI compatible, some brands have received MRI conditional labeling .
