Costochondral joint
The costochondral joints are the joints between each rib and its costal cartilage. They are primary cartilaginous joints. These joints represent the demarcation of the unossified and ossified part of the rib . The joint is held together by periosteum, with the lateral aspect of the costal cartilage joining to a depression on the sternal end of the rib . There is no movement at these joints.
