Extratesticular scrotal mass (differential)
Extratesticular scrotal masses (non-testicle and non-epididymis) are mostly mesenchymal in origin and benign .
Benign lesions
- lipoma (most common)
- leiomyoma of the scrotum
- neurofibroma
- granular cell tumor
- angiomyofibroblastoma-like tumor
- fibrous pseudotumor
- fibrous hamartoma of infancy
Malignant lesions
Malignant lesions of the scrotum are rare.
- metastasis
- liposarcoma
- leiomyosarcoma of the scrotum
- malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH)
- rhabdomyosarcoma
- primary dermal lesions extending into the deeper layers of the scrotum (e.g. melanoma)
