flexor carpi radialis muscle
Flexor carpi radialis (FCR) muscle is found in the firstlayer of the anterior compartment of the forearm. It does not pass through the carpal tunnel, but rather by itself in a small separate tunnel between the superficial and deep layers of the flexor retinaculum along the scaphoid and trapezium. It is one of the extrinsic muscles of the hand.

- origin: medial epicondyle of the humerus, antebrachial fascia
- insertion: base of the 2 and 3metacarpals, small slip to trapezial tuberosity
- arterial supply: anterior ulnar recurrent artery or posterior ulnar recurrent artery
- innervation: median nerve (C6-7)
- action: flexion and radial deviation of the wrist joint
