The glottis is an anatomic subsite of the larynx, between the supraglottis and subglottis.
Gross anatomy
The glottic larynx includes the true vocal cords, where they come together at the anterior commissure, and where they meet the laryngeal cartilages at the interarytenoid region or posterior commissure.
Boundaries and/or Relations
- superiorly: upper surface of true vocal cord, at its junction with the lateral margin of the ventricle
- inferiorly: 1 cm below the upper surface of the vocal cord at its junction with the lateral margin of the ventricle
- laterally: paraglottic space
