Hepatogastric ligament
The hepatogastric (gastrohepatic) ligament is a peritoneal ligament that together with the hepatoduodenal ligament forms the lesser omentum. It derives from the embryonic ventral mesentery.
Gross anatomy
The hepatogastric ligament extends from the fissure of the ligamentum venosum and porta hepatis to the lesser curvature of the stomach.
It is formed by two layers of peritoneum separated by a variable amount of connective tissue, principally fat.
