Radiographic features

Ultrasound

They usually present as a well defined hypoechogenic splenic mass .

CT

Well defined hypodense splenic mass that, on postcontrast images, shows delayed heterogeneous enhancement. A central hypodense scar is recognized as a feature. Calcifications may be present .

MRI
  • T1: low- to iso-intensity
  • T2: bright signal within the central scar
  • T1 C+ (Gd): delayed postcontrast enhancement
