Infraorbital groove

The infraorbital groove is a bony groove within the maxillary bone located at the posterior aspect of the orbital floor. It transmits the infraorbital nerve, which is a branch of the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve (CN Vb), as well as the infraorbital artery and vein. The groove commences posteriorly after the nerve emerges from the inferior orbital fissure, and terminates anteriorly as the nerve enters the infraorbital canal.
