A sesamoid bone at the interphalangeal joint of the hand is relatively common position for occurrence of a sesamoid bone. It may be present in around 67% of the adult population . They are typically seen as a single small corticated ossicle adjacent to the volar margin of the interphalangeal joint. Most people have one sesamoid bone in this location .
