intraosseous lipoma of the sacrum
Intraosseous
lipoma of the sacrum. CT image depicts predominant low attenuation of fat (<−60 to −100 HU).
Intraosseous
lipoma of the sacrum. CT image shows dystrophic calcification and prominent osseous trabeculae within the lesion, which is surrounded by a thin rim of sclerotic bone. The lesion abuts the articular surface of the sacroiliac joint without joint involvement.
Intraosseous
lipoma of the sacrum. T1-weighted image shows high signal intensity within the mass isointense to the subcutaneous fat. Fat-saturated T1-weighted image shows homogeneous suppression of the signal intensity consistent with fat content.
Intraosseous
lipoma of the sacrum. Fat-saturated T2-weighted image shows homogeneous suppression of the signal of the fatty component, hypointense dystrophic calcifications (blue arrow ) and a small hyperintense cystic area consistent with fat necrosis (yellow arrow)
