Left subphrenic space
The left subphrenic space is a subcompartment of the left supramesocolic space located between the diaphragm and, the diaphragmatic surface of the spleen and gastric fundus.
It is described to have anterior and posterior parts without clear delineation.
Boundaries
- medially: falciform ligament
- posterior: anterior layer of left triangular ligament of the liver
- inferomedial: splenorenal, gastrosplenic and phrenicocolic ligaments which separate space from left paracolic gutter
