periportale sinusoidale Dilatation

Hepatic sinusoidal dilatation is a rare hepatic vascular lesion that is the result of dilatation of the hepatic capillaries.

Pathology

Hepatic sinusoidal dilatation can be caused by hepatic venous outflow obstruction (more commonly) or extrahepatic inflammatory conditions .

Radiographic features

CT/MRI

On post-contrast cross-sectional imaging, the liver may take on a "mosaic" pattern of reticular/mottled contrast enhancement. Hepatic vein thrombosis and ascites may be present .
