Post-lung transplant bronchiolitis obliterans
Post-lung transplant bronchiolitis obliterans is a type of obliterative bronchiolitis that can occur as chronic post-lung transplantation complication. Clinically, it can present as part of the post-transplant bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome under the umbrella of chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD).
Radiographic features
CT
High-resolution chest CT is best for characterizing the disease. Described findings include:
- bronchial dilatation - elevated broncho-arterial ratios (considered a specific but not sensitive finding)
- air trapping (considered a sensitive and specific finding)
- mosaic attenuation pattern
- bronchial wall thickening
