Procerus muscle

Procerus muscle (also known as pyramidalis nasi muscle) is one of the muscles of the nose and is a muscle of facial expression.

• origin: descending fibers of frontalis muscle coalesce with procerus

• insertion: skin of the inferior glabella
• innervation: buccal nerve (branch of the facial nerve (VII))
• action: 
  • wrinkling of the skin of the nose
  • draws down the medial end of the eyebrows
• arterial supply: facial artery
• venous drainage: facial vein
