pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy
Pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy (PTTM) occurs when there are tumor cell microemboli ("non-occlusive" microscopic tumor emboli) with "occlusive" fibrointimal remodeling in small pulmonary arteries, veins and lymphatics. It is considered one of the processes of microsopic pulmonary tumor embolism. It can be a rare cause of pulmonary hypertension.
