- glomus tympanicum
- glomus jugulotympanicum
- aberrant internal carotid artery
- dehiscent jugular bulb
- also consider:
- cholesterol granuloma
- infection with superimposed hemorrhage
- meningioma
- ossifying hemangioma of the facial nerve
