Right ventricular outflow tract
The right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) refers to the region of blood outlfow from the right ventricle between the supraventricular crest and the pulmonary valve. It is comprised of the conus arteriosus (infundibulum), ventricular septum and right ventricular free wall. It is commonly assessed as part of routine obstetric fetal cardiac imaging.
It is considered the preferential site of origin of arrhythmias in idiopathic outflow tract (OFT) tachycardias, in Brugada syndrome and to a lesser degree in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC).
