Seatbelt syndrome

The seatbelt syndrome is the constellation of traumatic thoracic, abdominal and/or vertebral column injuries associated with three-point seatbelts :

• bowel perforation
• mesenteric tear
• sternal fracture
• lumbar spine fracture
• female breast trauma
