Small communicating branch

The small communicating branch of the ciliary ganglion is a small branch of the nasociliary nerve which supplies sensory fibers through the ciliary ganglion. These fibers do not synapse in the ganglion but pass directly into the short ciliary nerves to supply sensation to the sclera, cornea, iris and ciliary body.
