Spinal subdural space

The spinal subdural space is a potential area between the spinal arachnoid mater and the spinal dura mater.

Unlike the cranial subdural space, the spinal subdural space does not contain any bridging veins, and thus hemorrhage into this area only occurs in very rare cases .  It only contains a minute quantity of CSF and is traversed by isolated connective tissue trabecular.

In rare cases the spinal subdural space can also be a site for infection.
