Superficial palmar branch of the radial artery
The superficial palmar branch of the radial artery (also known as the palmar cutaneous branch) is a small branch of the radial artery in the distal forearm. It arises from the radial artery just proximal to the flexor retinaculum, which it passes superficially over before entering the hand to supply the thenar muscles and anastomosing with the superficial palmar arch.
