Supraorbital vein

The supraorbital vein drains the anterior part of the scalp and forehead . The supraorbital vein drains into the superior ophthalmic vein and the angular vein at the root of the nose .

Gross anatomy

The supraorbital vein drains the forehead venous plexus and descends along with the supraorbital artery. Before reaching the supraorbital notch it has a branch which joins with the supratrochlear vein to form the angular vein . Once it has traversed the supraorbital notch, the supraorbital vein joins to help form the superior ophthalmic vein . The supraorbital vein also has communications with the superficial and middle temporal veins .
