Tendon delamination
Tendon delamination is process of tearing where there is a longitudinal split and longitudinal separation of tendon fibers. While it typically occurs with tearing it may also be present with tendinopathic changes. It is typically observed in the rotator cuff.
Radiographic features
May be seen as horizontal retraction of either the bursal or articular surface of the tendon, thickening of the torn retracted edge or as interstitial splitting of the tendon.
