USB-Stick

The ubiquitous USB flash drive (or USB stick) may be an odd article on a radiology website, but those who report a lot of chest radiographs will be aware that it can be often be confused for an implantable loop recorder device or leadless pacemaker.

Radiographic features

Whilst USB drives come in a variety of shapes and sizes, the constant feature is the USB standard male A-plug that is the part inserted into the USB port on a computer. The size of this component and the two holes easily visible within make it an easy distinction from an implantable loop recorder device or other implants.
