It typically results from damage to the parieto-occipital regions, and has been associated with :
- corticobasal degeneration
- posterior cortical atrophy
- bilateral parietal ischemic stroke
History and etymology
First described by Rezső Bálint (1874–1929), Hungarian neurologist-psychiatrist, in 1909 .
