Cortical
metastasis - unusual type of skeletal metastatic disease. CT (upper) and SPECT/CT (lower) shows osteolytic full-thickness cortical lesion with extraosseous soft tissue component, moderate intramedullary spread, “Codman triangle” and increased radiotracer uptake at the periphery of the bone defect.
Cookie bite metastases are characterized by small focal eccentric lytic external cortical destruction in long tubular bones. This type of destruction is typically described for metastases from lung cancer; however, they can also occur with other tumors.
