Marbled pattern of the corpus callosum has been described in the acute phase of neuromyelitis optica (NMO) and represents multiple overlapping lesions with heterogeneous signal . This is distinct from the more typical appearance of multiple sclerosis (MS) where smaller separate individual lesions are seen ascending from the callososeptal interface.
