spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma
Spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma is a subtype of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.
Epidemiology
There may be increased male predilection. May present at any age
Pathology
Histologically this tumor can resemble a leiomyosarcoma. It is composed mainly of fascicular, relatively monomorphic spindle-shaped cells that show unequivocal immunohistochemical and ultrastructural evidence of myogenic differentiation.
Location
There is predilection for the paratesticular region and the head and neck.
Treatment and prognosis
Compared to other rhabdomyosarcomas, it has a good prognosis .
