Ganz osteotomy

Bernese periacetabular osteotomy, also known as Ganz osteotomy, is an orthopedic procedure involving osteotomy surrounding the acetabulum and subsequent angulation to improve coverage of the femoral head by the acetabulum. It is performed in the context of hip dysplasia. There is an osteotomy through the superior ramus of the pubic bone and an osteotomy surrounding the acetabulum, allowing for its angulation.

It may also help to alleviate pain and potentially slows down the development of coxarthritis later in life .
