Infantile fibrosarcoma of the lung
Infantile fibrosarcoma of the lung, also known as primary bronchopulmonary fibrosarcoma, is a very rare spindle-cell tumor.
Epidemiology
More than 80% of cases are reported to occur within the 1 year of life. There is a slight predominance in male infants .
Clinical presentation
Patients may present with respiratory symptoms, fever, anemia and hypoglycemia.
Radiographic features
The imaging features of infantile fibrosarcoma, specifically in the lung, have not been described. However, extrapulmonary tumors on MRI tend to be hyperintense on T1 and T2 weighted sequences and demonstrate heterogeneous enhancement associated with tumoral hemorrhage .
