aneuploidy

Aneuploidy refers to an abnormal number of chromosomes, and is a type of chromosomal abnormality.

There are large number potential aneuploidic anomalies. The most common three in obstetric practice are:

• trisomy 21: commonest aneuploidic anomaly
• trisomy 18
• trisomy 13
