shortened fetal long bones

Shortened fetal long bones (SFLB) can involve either the upper limb and/or the lower limb. It is a broad descriptive entity which can include

• short fetal femur
• short fetal humerus
• short fetal tibia-fibula
• short fetal radius - ulna

Pathology

Associations

• the presence of shorted fetal long bones can be associated with an underlying skeletal dysplasia .
• is also sometimes considered as a soft marker for aneuploidic anomalies.
