Acute
cholangitis: A warning sign - Heterogeneous liver enhancement. Heterogeneous enhancement of liver parenchyma (chronic alcoholic hepatopathy) with multiple subcapsular enhancing areas, compatible with areas of altered perfusion. They remained stable at follow-up.

Cholangitis is a relatively broad descriptive term referring to inflammation of the bile ducts.
It has many forms and can arise from a number of situations:
- primary sclerosing cholangitis
- chemotherapy induced cholangitis
- eosinophilic cholangitis
- infective cholangitis
