Clear cell tumors of the lung are rare benign pulmonary neoplasms that contain an abundant amount of glycogen. It is often classified under the spectrum of perivascular epithelioid cell tumors (PEComas).

Radiographic features

Usually seen as a rounded, smooth-walled, and peripheral parenchymal nodule without cavitation or calcification. There is no recognized lobar distribution.

CT

These tumors usually show intense post-contrast enhancement which is thought to be related to its rich vascular stroma.

History and etymology

It was initially described by A A Liebow and B Castleman in 1963 .
