Collateral trigone

The trigone of the lateral ventricle is an area of the lateral ventricle at the confluence of the occipital and temporal horns. It refers either to the three-dimensional space at the transition between the body of the lateral ventricle and the occipital and temporal horns, in which case it is also known as the atrium (plural: atria), or the triangular floor of this space, in which case it is also known as the collateral trigone .

The most common neoplasm in this region is intraventricular meningioma in adults and choroid plexus papilloma in children .
