Dendriform pulmonary ossification
Metabolic and
storage lung diseases: spectrum of imaging appearances. A 48-year-old man with dendriform pulmonary ossification. HRCT image shows branching and punctate calcifications (arrowheads) in the right middle and lower lobes. There is a background of mild reticulation and ground-glass opacity, reflecting underlying mild interstitial fibrosis
Metabolic and
storage lung diseases: spectrum of imaging appearances. A man with asbestosis and dendriform pulmonary ossification. Prone HRCT image shows branching calcifications (arrows) in both lower lobes
Dendriform
pulmonary ossification in a case of usual interstitial pneumonia. Chest CT image shows bilateral subpleural reticulation and honeycombing, both more evident than the more cranial sections, suggesting apico-basal gradient. Bronchiectasis are also present (arrows).

Dendriform (or dendritic) pulmonary ossification is a rare morphological subtype of pulmonary ossification whereby the thin branching calcified lines on CT resemble a dendrite (however a dendritic pattern may not always be present on CT).
They may also be seen as small nodules in the peripheral interstitium (interlobular septa and subpleural and perifissural spaces) associated with interstitial lines. They principally have a peripheral and basal distribution and are thought to be metaplastic in etiology.
