Diffuse dural calcification can occur in a number of settings. These include

parathyroid abnormalities
- hyperparathyroidism
  - secondary hyperparathyroidism
  - tertiary hyperparathyroidism
renal failure
nephrogenic systemic fibrosis
congenital syndromes
- basal cell nevus syndrome
