Spiral ganglion
The spiral ganglion is a group of nerve cells located in the modiolus that enables the sense of hearing by sending a representation of sound from the cochlea to the brain.
The body of these nerve cells emits a peripheral process that contacts acoustic receptors in the organ of Corti and a central process that projects in the auditory nerve .
