Testicular embryonal cell carcinoma
Teenager with
hemoptysis and large weight loss over 6 months. CXR PA and lateral (above) shows a large round solid lesion in the right upper lobe. Axial CT without contrast of the chest (below left) shows a large solid lesion in the right upper lobe and a small solid lesion in the left upper lobe posteriorly. There is an additional solid lesion in the right lower lobe (below right).The diagnosis was lung metastases due to embryonal cell carcinoma of the testicle.

Testicular embryonal cell carcinoma is a type of non-seminomatous germ cell tumor.
Epidemiology
Incidence peaks at around 25-30 years.
Pathology
It may occur as part of a mixed germ cell tumor (more common and may be present as a component in around 80% of mixed germ cell tumors) or very rarely in pure form. It has components of primitive anaplastic-appearing epithelial cells.
