Type IV endoleak

Type IV endoleaks are a type of endoleak which usually occurs secondary to graft porosity and are typically seen in the immediate post operative angiogram following an endovascular aneurysm repair.

Epidemiology

Type IV endoleaks are extremely rare and studies report a prevalence of 0.3%. This type of endoleak has been largely eliminated due to advances in graft fabric.

Treatment and prognosis

Type IV endoleaks do not require any treatment and typically resolves within a few days once the patient's coagulation status returns to baseline.
