undifferentiated carcinoma of the endometrium
Undifferentiated carcinoma of the endometrium is rare histological subtype of endometrial cancer. It is considered a high grade carcinoma, carries a poor prognosis and is often under-recognized .
Epidemiology
It is thought to represent approximately 1-9% of endometrial cancers .
Pathology
They have no evidence of glandular or epithelial differentiation. They can be further sub divided into large cell, intermediate or small cell types. Some of carcinomas carry neuroendocrine expression .
