Gantzer muscle
The Gantzer muscle is an anomalous head of the flexor pollicis longus muscle, an accessory muscle of the forearm. Some authors suggest that this muscle is present in ~70% of limbs and should be considered a normal anatomical pattern rather than an anatomical variation.
Summary
- origin: deep surface of the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle, coronoid process and medial epicondyle
- insertion: the ulnar part of flexor pollicis longus muscle
- innervation: anterior interosseous nerve
