with supraventricular tachycardia resulting in cardiac arrest. CXR AP shows mild cardiomegaly with bilateral perihilar lung opacities with a batwing appearance.The diagnosis was supraventricular tachycardia resulting in cardiogenic pulmonary edema.
Cardiogenic pulmonary edema is a subtype of pulmonary edema where the underlying etiology is due to left ventricular dysfunction.
Causes include:
- left heart failure
- mitral regurgitation
- aortic stenosis
- arrhythmias
- myocardial pathology
