Most tumors of the CNS can potentially occur in the temporal lobe, but entities with a predilection for being diagnosed in this location include:

• pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA)
• ganglioglioma
• pilocytic astrocytoma
• dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNET)
• multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumors (MVNT)
